I may be repeating an earlier question, but I can't find it anywhere.
Originally I had Mandrake 8.2 installed with my Voodoo 3 2000 PCI card. 2 days ago I installed my new GeForce 4 AGP card. I was unable to get X to run at all. Since I was interested in trying Slackware, I installed Slackware 8.1 to see what it was like. After hacking around a bit with the X configuration I have gotten it to run, but it Segfaults before it finishes loading. Something about unable to verify AGP something or other shows up in my log files. Yes, I have the kernel driver loaded and X is using the nvidia driver. I am at a loss as to how to fix this and hope that someone who has had a similar problem could help me fix this. I suspect it has to do with the kernel (version 2.4.18, fresh install of Slackware 8.1). My card is the 4200 model with 128 MB of DDR memory from PowerColor. If you'd like any more information let me know. I am stuck using Windows XP right now and its killing me! |

Well I reinstalled Mandrake and got it working with the Nvidia drivers, but I am stuck in 1024x768. Ctrl-Alt-+ and Ctrl-Alt-- don't have any effect any the Modes sections in XF86Config are being ignored.
