Default small problem with driver 44.96 on a mandrake 9.1 box

I have a geforce 4 mx 440 se 128 MB from xfx, running on driver 44.96, in a mandrake 9.1 box. my /proc/driver/nvidia/cards/0 reads this:

Model: GeForce4 MX 440
IRQ: 11
Video BIOS: 04.17.00.63.42
Card Type: AGP

my processor is a amd athlon xp 2100+ and the boar is a ASUS A7V266-E (KT266-A chip7).

Now for the problem (at last... lol).

Everything seems fine, the desktop is ok, the games run really well, and everything, but there's just a slight problem on the exit. When I shutdown or reboot my box, and x starts to close, I should see the processes beeing shutdown. I can't see that because the text is really big (giant...), each caracter is gigantic and beeing drawn in separate horizontal lines, that don't stop blinking, the text is so big that is starts to be written on top of itself, and that goes on until the screen is full of white lines, blinking in some spots.

This is only the size of the text that is wrong.
This remindes me the MS-DOS times, when we could increase the text size with the command "MODE" (ie. "MODE 80"), only this is much, much, much bigger.

I really hope u can understand this and help me.

Sorry for the (very) long post.

Thanks in advance!

got same thing, some people believe some of those problems can be resolved by disconnecting TV from TV-OUT, but don't have a TV connected and have that problem, try logging in and pressing CTRL-ALT-F1. if you see anything similar to what I had, posted a screenshot in a thread some time ago, the previous driver didn't have the problem.

good luck

Same here (Mandrake 9.1, GeForce3 TI200). It really doesn't prevent usage, but is annoying. Any ideas what could be causing this?
