Interesting read. I'd love to find a bit more info about how computers got from being rewired to being able to perform routines. One thing that I've always wanted to know is how do you go from turning electrical signals into logic.

This is definitely a quick 1000 foot view of computing though.

Hmm... Noticiting a little bias against apple...

Electrical signals into logic is easy:

All those gates can be made with just NAND gates these days and to make a NAND gate you only need 4 FETS or 2 CMOS
