Default Need a new keyboard/mouse: Budget total $100

So I need a new keyboard and mouse. My basic comfort curve keyboard and opitical mouse have seen 3+ years of service but now I need something better. My budget total is $100 for both items combined.

So far the Razer abyssus has caught my eye as has this microsoft sidewinder keyboard.

Suggestions? Should I spend more and buy each piece one at a time? I like to hold on to my peripherals/monitors/input decives a long time.

hard to say. i think with input devices, it is 90% preference. I doubt any intelligent person buys something JUST because it is logitech or razer or whatever. try to get to a store and feel around

I picked those two by whatever was the highest rated on the egg in my price range. I figured that some here must have tried one of them.

doesn't matter how highly rated it might be, if it doesn't feel confortable in your hand.

Yeah. I kind of messed up when creating this thread. I should have polled you all on the keyboard of your choice and looked at for that at the store so I could test it out.

My friend has a death adder mouse that I love.

my friend who has the razer mouse has that exact keyboard. Its pretty sweet.

I ll have to hop over to my best buy to try everything out. I ve gotta take a look at the updated version of my comfort curve.

My current mouse needs to be donated to younger relative asap lol. ( i would say burn in fire but that would be a waste)

I use a n52te (Razer Nostromo) and whatever keyboard I have at the moment, Using a keyboard for gaming is just plain wrong and a technology evolution by-product from Type-writers.
The Dell keyboard I have does have a handy volume knob though .

Unless you've had a Nostromo and don't like it or have one already I say get a good typing keyboard for typing, Don't bother with a so called "gaming" keyboard.

Illuminated keyboard is nice though..... I want one.
