Anybody ever played this game? I just bought this via steam but it looks like i may have bit off more than i can chew!
Its got one of the highest scores on metacritic.com ive seen and i cant find a single bad review about the game, Graphics are awesome but its just too damn hard lol ... In almost every review by both Critics and users they say "its the best, Most realistic flight sim i have ever played" ... This includes professional pilots. Take the engine(training level)start up procedure for example below! .. I mean every single button, Switch and knob you can see in the ****pit you can press, Turn or switch, Every single dial is live and working! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CV35B-vfT4U http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_MDng...eature=related I was in game doing the above tutorial, Got half way through and i was like ![]()

The Patriots Jet Team and I are flying A-10 all the time. Hit me up with a PM and I'll send you our Ventrilo info if you'd like to try a multiplayer flight.
In the mean time get comfortable with the TGP and Mavericks. You can use auto-start in game until you learn the full start procedure. If you have the means a Thrustmaster Warthog stick and throttle really add to the experience. ![]()

Its too realistic for its own good. I mean, you actually have to become a A-10 pilot to play it well. As far as sims go though, you can't get better. I'm just not a good enough A-10 pilot to stay in the air, I always want to do some kind of arcade-style moves.

I used to love mil. sims...but A-10 is too much for me. I just don't have the time and inclination to "learn" this sim. Not only that but my regular old 6 button joystick is just inadequate for flying DCS: A-10, and there is no way I'm going to drop hundreds of $$ on a new HOTAS

Sure in order to get the most of this game you will need a decent setup. Saitek X65s are like 80 bucks. The price of entry into a realistic sim is pretty steep but the amount of return on that investment is in spades IMO. |
