Default Dual monitor issues with ubuntu 10.10 and 11.10 // nvidia drivers // geforce GTS450

Hello Everybody,

I need some help! Its been already 2 days struggling to configure my gts450 on Ubuntu 10.10 and 11.10

I have 2 monitors 22", the system recognize the 2nd monitor, but the problem is that the main one as a max resolution of 800x600!! I tried to install the latest driver version from the nvidia website, but nothing changes!

I followed the instructions on the link below and it was working fine, but after the latest Ubuntu 10.10 system update the issues begins! :

The problem is basically on the monitor that is connected via the DVI cable, the 2nd with the VGA is ok. Tested all on windows and both monitors works fine

I have installed ubuntu version 11.10, he recognize both screens but he gives them max resolution of 1024x768 and I want at least 1650x1050!

Any help or suggestions will be appreciated.

Many thanks!
