Default No stereo with HDMI audio, only mono on right speaker

Hi,

I have an ASUS AT5IONTI DELUXE (Intel Atom D525 with Integrated Next Generation ION graphics processor) running Ubuntu 10.10 (problems with ION under 11.04). I followed the documentation "HDMI Audio on NVIDIA GPUs" (really great document by the way) and ended up adding the following line to /etc/pulse/default.pa which allowed me to have sound on the TV using an HDMI cable:
load-module module-alsa-sink device=plughw:NVidia,7

However, all the sound goes on the right speaker; nothing goes out from the left speaker.
The same thing happens when I run:
speaker-test -c 2 -r 48000 -D plughw:2,7
I hear "noise" when the script is testing the right speaker, but nothing when the script is testing the left speaker.

Any idea how I could solve this problem?

Thanks,
Gurvan
