I just got a GeForce210 card & downloaded the Linux X_86/64 drivers from NVIDIA. These drivers appear to be dated August 2010.
I'd already installed the Nouveau driver - version 0.0.16_20110115_b795ca6-3.1 from February 2011. Before I disable the Nouveau driver - which is newer/better? |

Well, NVidia proprietary drivers are a better choice. They're more stable and if you're going to do SLI, they're pretty much your only choice. Nouveau works for most people with newer cards, but they're basically incomplete in their feature sets. However, you're encouraged to provide feedback to the Nouveau team. and if you can help, please contribute. One day Nouveau will be just as good as the official NVidia drivers, but that day will remain far away unless more people contribute feedback and assistance.

Thanks for the info. I'm not doing SLI - just trying to do a little animation.
