Good to see a full slot exhaust vent back, no need for dual DVI these days IMO. Also nice that they made the fan larger and changed the blades, hopefully it's a fair bit quieter... my 5870 is quiet enough at stock clocks but my case fans are pretty loud so any improvement will be more than welcome when I switch to a new case or quieter fans down the road.

Pretty sure I'll be buying one of these come january... CPU bottlenecks are overstated

That looks pretty promising. Glad they decided to go the 3Gb route. I will either grab 2 of these or 1 of the big mother x2 Bastards.

Any word on the TDP of the 7950?

I need a new graphics card, but don't want a combo graphics card + space heater.

3 cards here as well....I'll even advance order them from my local hardware shop tomorrow, so that they get some from their distributor on the 22nd.

Now to wait for the water cooling blocks is going to be a pain in the ass, but i might use the stock air cooler and drain + disable the pump for the GPU loop in the mean time...

The 7970 is 210, but I can't figure out what the 7950 is.

I agree. It seems like overkill to me. HD6970 not to mention Crossfire HD6970 handles everything at highest.

And apparently 7800/7700 will be GCN too and not Northern Islands 28nm VLIW like it was rumored at first..

Ok its Semiaccurate, but still interesting news

Remember that we previously reported the latest low-end discrete GPU offerings from AMD will be re-brands? Well, it looks like the low-end desktop offerings will get the same treatment. In a series of documents detailing the next low-end discrete GPU offerings from AMD, all of them indicate that AMD will not make a low-end part based on the Graphics Core Next (GCN) architecture, but instead they are all re-brands of the legacy VLIW5 products, and are targeted, at the time of publication, to OEMs only.
