Anyone know if there is a gadget similar to this in the picture? It's the "desktop folder".

How about opening your desktop folder and leave the window open. It's so simple it's incredible.
Also you could pin your desktop folder to your taskbar then click on it to see the contents. You could also try this http://www.stardock.com/products/fences/ |

I don't "want" the desktop folder, I just want the window pane, I want to put all my game shortcuts in it. And no, the game explorer sucks, you can't modify the shortcut.
I already tried ObjectDock, and it's quirky. Fences won't be much better. Was hoping for a Windows Gadget to keep down processes and ram, and compatibility.
