Default Debian Woody and FX5200

I am trying to install the 4496 driver but the installer wont run. First it does not find precompiled kernel interface. Then it fails to download one from the nvidia site and finally it fails to compile a kernel interface.

kernel 2.4.18-bf2.4
Motherboard Aopen AK77-8XN
Proc: Athlon XP 2400+, 256 Mb RAM
Video Aopen Aeolus (nvidia FX5200, 128 Mb DDR)

you need configured kernel sources or, at least the
headers corresponding to your running kernel.

cheers

ps: without the installer logfile we cannot help .

I went further and recompiled the kernel (I am kind of experimenting with Debian). After that, the installer works.

Now I only have to configure the X

Thanks

Cool

It works perfectly.

You only have to tell the installer where the headers are (/usr/src/kernel-headers-....../include with the option --kernel-include-path of the installer and everything goes smoothly
