wolf 3d, hexen, commander keen, galactix, duck tales, mostly 486 games got me into pc gaming, before windows booted by default, but after the jedi knight series i didnt have a decent computer until the Half Life 2/ Doom 3/ Far Cry era and loading up those games blew my mind. Far Cry was insanely impressive and prolly still one of the prettiest games around, at least the atmosphere. I'm now on my next card after my 6800gt and both have treated me so well. Can't wait to take the plunge again.
Anyone remember those old pc gamer demo cd's loaded with shareware hexen and crap like that, when you had to get aol online via credit card and ghetto dialup, it wasnt even that long ago! |
