I know, I want this too, now. I haven't even gotten Gears 3 yet.

I've been reduced to a slobbering fanboy at this point. This game is incredibly awesome. Makes me feel like a kid again (at least in a video gaming sense!) The scale of the world and enemies, the subtleties of the character advancement system, the combat, music, sound effects and atmosphere are all of a caliber I haven't seen in this gaming generation.

I believe I'm maybe halfway through the game. I have died more times than I remember, but each death (even ones that seemed cheap at first) yielded progress and areas or bosses that I thought were impossible at first were my bitches a half-dozen or so deaths later. The difficulty curve is near perfection. And it is not just slightly harder than Demon's Souls, it's a lot harder, especially once you leave the relative safety of the Undead Burg / Parish area.

There are plenty of areas to explore that are not necessary for the main game quest. This, along with several optional bosses and hidden shortcuts, compels you to at least set foot into the unknown and then kind of run with it until you realize you're in over your head. I'd cite specific areas but I'd rather not spoil the game for anyone.

I'm positive this is my GOTY.

Was enjoying the game A LOT... But I wish somebody had warned me about these frog creatures giving curses and what curses actually do. Now I'm stuck in the sewers and have half of my health... have tried so many times to make it to the surface again to try and break this curse .

Had my first Black Phantom invader (an actual player, there are also NPC black phantoms occasionally) today, obliterated him in seconds! Glad I went with a 2handed strength build. I think I'm at about 18 hours played and I'd be surprised if I'm 2/3 of the way through the game by now.

Hunt you having trouble with directions or just getting killed on the way back up? By the way bum rush those frogs while 2 handing your weapon and you'll avoid the curse. It's 4k souls for the curse removal item.

Finally got out... Beat the Gaping Dragon... Blighttown is a PAIN! Can't see **** and I lost about 20k souls down there because of the freaking homo poisonous and instant kill crap down in that place. Couldn't find another bonfire, so now I'm just going elsewhere.

You're gonna need to do Blighttown, sorry to say! It's a bitch but there are two bonfires - one near the top and one down at the swamp. Enjoy the poison swamp by the way. And the endlessly respawning flies that puke poison blood on you. Bring a bow if you don't have one.

There are a ton of optional areas available if you want to try - Darkroot Forest, New Londo Ruins (only go here if you're cursed, or you can't block or attack the ghosts), Darkroot Basin, Valley of the Drakes (avoid this IMO I still can barely kill the enemies here). Explore places you may have missed in Undead Burg/Parish, buy one-time items like the things that let you repair at bonfires, etc. Grind souls if you want. Plenty of stuff to do, but Blighttown is gonna have to get done at some point. Trust me it's not so bad once you explore it and know where to go/what to watch out for. The boss is really fun too.

Yeah, got through Blighttown. Finally rang the second bell... Was having a really hard time, but I found a Demon Spear last night and I love it.

Have fun with Smough and Ornstein since you're almost there. I gave up after quite a few attempts. I hate 2v1 bosses. edit: nevermind, killed them. Was pretty damn hard, took about 20 minutes.

Which ones are they? I'm in Anor Londo or whatever now... been doing MUCH better now. Sen's Fort or whatever was a pain, though... stupid pendulums.

It's a boss fight - Dragonslayer Ornstein and Executioner Smough. You'll know them when you see them. Really hard but beatable with patience. Yeah Sen's Fortress was a difficulty spike that smooths out once you get past it.

Casual! Solo it like a man!

Seriously though I think that's the hardest boss in the game. I've finished off Seath the Scaleless and Gravelord Nito and both those fights were much easier. Although the Catacombs and Tomb of Giants were the hardest levels I've yet seen - I think I died more times in those areas than the rest of the game combined.
