It's interesting. I've read the 360 version is better than the PS3 version, except for the 3CD part, but the 360 uses an ATI GPU, PS3, nVidia. I guess when you'r'e writing to the metal, it's different.

He's been blaming drivers since the 90's. I remember Quake 3 driver issues.
There has still got to be some AMD/ATI software that is interfaced...

Having a locked down environment for the GPU software on the 360 is probably the best thing you could ask for... imagine if ATI was able to update the drivers on the 360... with their lack of quality in drivers it would be a mess... they'd update one thing and break 30 other games. They really need to fire their entire driver team and start fresh.

Yeah, great driver.

It only took them 2 or 3 sets to get Rage working... and even now I still dont think it's perfect...

I don't get everyone saying it's best on 360. Broken PC looks as good as 360. Assuming they fix it, it will look better. Also going to 360 you add load times and remove number key access to weapons ( you are stuck with the 4 weapon quick select. Also don't forget the game is double the price on consoles (here it is anyway).

I will say. I'm with Maggy. This game hurts you eyes. Always play in a fully lit environment.

Only the 360 fanbois are saying that...

Indeed. 5-7 second level load times on a PC with SSD. XBox360 20 seconds assuming you install it to HDD, PS3 upto 33 seconds.

Based on what I have heard, regarding the console versions, the 360 version looks better than the PS3. Out of all of them, the PC version looks the best, IMHO, even with the config issues.

I have it looking pretty nice now and it's smooth, never a hitch or stutter.

Also while driving, when I turn around near objects that would obscure my view of the vehicle, I get an occasional render error (like a large rogue triangle on the screen).
I've been playing around with it and the GPU transcode option they removed seems to allow me to go back to previous levels of AA.

vt_useCudaTranscode

0 = OFF
1 = Smart
2 = ON

Edit: NM, didn't fix the problem.
