FYI all-
Downloading the latest XFree86 development snapshot (4.3.99.7) and rebuilding results in a working 'nv' driver for the GFFX5600Go. I just verified it works on my Toshiba 5205-S705. This is the open source driver, so I'm not expecting great OpenGL performance, but it looks as if it is faster than the 'vesa' driver I was previously using. I didn't have to do anything special to get it to work, just unpack and 'make World' followed by 'make install'. PS - this is on RH9, but I don't see why it wouldn't work on other distributions. |
