I also stopped down at my buddy's shop and when I mentioned Asus Z68 he showed me the 30+ plus boards waiting to be picked up for RMA and that turned me off from getting Asus.

If the MSI fails... I'll try an ASRock.

IMO... it's really frustrating these days buying a motherboard as I don't really trust any of the companies anymore to deliver a good product for under $400
Yeah I hear ya, I had the same deal with Asus and Abit, been running gigabyte for my last few, they haven't disappointed me yet.

I've never had any issues with Asus or Gigabyte boards, but I have with XFX and EVGA. But those were only one offs, although my RMA EVGA is playing up atm.

Everything fired up just fine first try with the MSI board.

OC Genie II pops the CPU up to 4.4GHz with the click of a button and with manual overclocking I was able to reach 4.8GHz without a sweat.

At stock 3.3 (EIST turned off) CPU idles at 23-25c.
At 4.4GHz CPU idles at 34c.

I don't run prime95 as I don't have anything that pushes 4 cores to 100% for any period of time but... highest temp I've seen so far is 54c.

Definitely giving this MSI Z68 board 2 thumbs up
