CoD elite delayed on PC !

“The issue here is that the PC is an insecure platform. Without a central, trusted resource for stats, a lot of our competition features become unfair. We can’t give away prizes when people can easily cheat their stats. Leaderboards are less fun when a lot of the users are there unfairly.”

On the bright side Product director Noah Heller did confirm that Elite on PC will be free for everyone.

“Not being able to trust stats is a big problem for our design,” he said. “Because of this, we had to re-imagine Elite for PC. Elite for PC will be about access to your own stats, or those of your friends. Basically establishing a circle of trust. And because it will have some reduced functionality, it will be free for everyone.

There is no new date for Elite at the moment, however there is no firm date, with Sonny saying that “It will be ready when it is ready.”

Oh dear but on the brightside we get it for free apparently, does this include the DLC i wonder or will we just be given the free alternative to subscription ala console platforms and pay for DLC when its readily available....If thats the case then PC gamers will be paying more for DLC without the option of subscription...hmmmm

Please try to refrain from any console v PC or BF3 v MW3 trolling or baiting in this thread...its getting boring.

Of course it wont include free DLC... In fact they'll probably jack up the price to make up for the pirated copies.

So you can't see your stats on the website for a few days, big deal. Just look at them in the game. Done.

cod elite's basic service is free for everyone. If you do the paid version you get extra exclusive features and all the DLC for $50 a year

This is the problem, it sounds as though the paid subscription service won't be available for PC. So say IW release 6 map packs in a year that would cost around 60-100 quid...But if i was able to subscribe at 35 quid i would save loads.. I would like to know what incentive the PC customers are going to get instead of having the option to subscribe.

Elite will only be down for 1-2 weeks and I'm pretty darn sure DLC won't be available that quickly, therefore the devs don't owe PC gamers anything. As far as the extra stats webpage and tips/tricks videos, meh. That's why I'm not paying for Elite, there isn't anything besides DLC to really make it worth my while.

I bet they already have a bunch of DLC maps finished before launch.

DLC is the biggest scam since MS point denominations...

Good riddance Activision. That's what you get for overcharging for a service that has traditionally been free.

Well the option probably was there to delay the game release also. I suspect they realize that it wouldn't work so great on the PC. For example people can just as easily capture game footage and upload HD in a few simple steps why would they pay for extra time on Elite capture? Once it comes I doubt it will have the competition aspect on PC. It will probably just have the stats tracking and community features.
