He lost the plot on page one anyway. It's clearly irrelevant because DICE said it, so I guess some people are not interested in what DICE say after they get their game.

I think most people are interpreting it wrong still. The technology and engine of the game are obviously PC centric, DX10, DX11 only. The console influence only comes in with the UI, spawn interface, and map scaling, nothing to do with how the game runs or performs.

YOu have no clue what you are talking about. Go ask someone who knows things over at B3D how much of the graphics tech that make BF3 look great is related to DX10 or DX11, its almost none. The main thing that makes it look good is their LOD and virtual texturing system, and it was designed to run on the current consoles. If BF3 was a cake, DX10 and DX11 effects are just the little sprinkles on top to make it look pretty.

Wow you do realize this game doesn't run on a dx9 card right? So In Ea's attempt to command the fps scene they allow dice to alienate a huge chunk of the consumer base for sprinkles. Go get your attention somewhere else, this thread has heard enough from you.

Wow, you realize that 360 and PS3 have DX9 spec hardware, right? Sorry that things existing on consoles makes you such a whiny biatch. You should be thankful, PC only gets as many ports as it does because of console development, without consoles the PC games market would be a fraction of what it is now.

Yeah it probably started the lead development on PC first and then switched to consoles later on. But you guys saw the end product. The game looks and plays well on the PC. The textures look great, the lighting is brilliant, the mouse look feels just about right, hell even the FOV is adjustable in the menu! As far as im concerned, DICE has managed to polish this PC game.

The maps in BFBC2 are so small in comparison to BF3, the gameplay is totally extended from the console variation of battlefield that is bad company. Bad company is a cut down battlefield for consoles and always has been...BF3 gameplay is heaps and bounds better than bfbc2 in conquest mode. However 'Rush' is very similar but hey thats a console gametype anyway.

It's not all about looks you know. Newer DX versions allow to do things easier, also DICE specially said that DX11 allowed them to do such things that are crap in DX9. DX9 cannot do AA with deferred lighting as well unless they support lower quality post AA. Also DX10/11 are better at geometry instancing and better optimised.
