I only had chance to play for a short time last night (2 hours), but felt a bit claustrophobic. The maps seem very tight, even compared to those in Black Ops. Admittedly, I didn't get to play on many maps in the time I had. Are there other 'more open' maps at all?

Had fun playing, but then if you liked the last CoD (I loved Black Ops ), you'll like this too

Yea I thought the same thing. Many of the maps are pretty big, but the corridors make them feel a lot smaller.

I'm enjoying the game, though. Kill confirmed is a lot of fun.

Maps are big but are tight in space. Not a lot of room for snipers, which I don't personally mind. MW3 puts BlackOps to shame, but I enjoyed BO for what it was.

I played kill confirmed last night, but didn't get the difference between the red and gold dog tags Has anyone got a good description of the new game modes? Also need to know what Juggernaught is all about - didn't have a clue what I was doing in that one :P

Gold dog tags are the other team, they give your team a point. Red dog tags are your own team's, collecting them stops the other team from getting a point.

The wiki should have all the info you need once it's unlocked (it got flooded yesterday):

The native setting on image quality under advanced graphics sure does make a difference. Textures are a lot more crisp now and the blurry look has gone. Seatown is 1 of my fave maps, its well laid out for Search and destroy gametype and the balance of attack and defence is great. Bakaara, hardhat and carbon are also quite good. Some of the more bigger maps Downturn and Village i'd say are more towards TDM, CTF and other rush gametypes.

You can tell that IW/SH have put careful thought into the layouts of the map. This is something that can't be said for Treyarch and there last effort with BLOPS with bomb sites and map layouts that seemed to have been puttogether by a blind monkey. This is partly the reason it didn't do so well in competitve play.

I'm looking forward to playing MW3 competitively with my team and im sure there will be many other teams/clans with the same thoughts.

Thank, Vin. I'll go check out the wiki! Didn't know there was one to be honest

No problem. The wiki page is nice, people put a lot of time/detail into it.

Those who think graphics are not important should get back to reality. Games are sold mostly on great graphics just like CG in movies. Great graphics are part of the package but MW3 looks good on a console, so it's enough.

They are important to an extent, but they are not what make/break a game. It's just one of the many pieces of the puzzle.

What is that "Kill Confirmed" mode? Do you have to get the dog tag first before you score the kill/XP?
Forget Rage.

Despite my moaning about the franchise I might buy it because I haven't brought a CoD since MW1 and I fancy some up to date close quarter killing. Looks like they copied Crysis 2 MP, having to get the dog tags off of the players rather than automatically receiving them.

I won't be paying 40 for it though, no way.
