I know that and I also know that you are right but... there is always a "but" lol

I use the sid/experimental repositories. Versions of nvidia driver older than 210.xx are only available in squeeze repositories and I don't want mix stable repositories with unstable repositories (that is the one I use).

I should have explained that to the user. sorry :S
