My monitor is calibrated thank you very much. There is plenty of saturated colour in nature but game developers choose to over post process for various reasons.

So Mr. Graphics designer. Fire up photoshop or whatever you use on a screenshot and touch up the colors of skyrim to how you think it should look. Pretty easy to do. Post the before and after.

meh, no point, not with your attitude. I just said Skyrim looks bland in places, I'm not starting a revolution.

Common, don't be a big baby now. With all your talk it's time to stand behind what you say.

I don't need to prove anything on this site and if you like Skyrim as it is, good for you. I'm sure someone will improve it with a mod like the natural mod from the Oblivion days, and I'm sure you'll say it's over saturated on unnatural.

Well, since you won't I will just take myself up on the challenge.

Here is what I did to make the game look better in my eyes. Mostly just a little sharpen and adjusted the colors a hair. Really, there wasn't much that I could do to make it look any better.

Before:

After:

Couple of vanilla pics that didn't need any changes.

OK, I was thinking more along the lines of this. The idea is to stop things blending into each other. it's a clear day and the colour of the objects should stand on their own. Spending time with tone mapping probably would help.

Anyone else prefer playing this with a 360 pad? I spent most of my time with the game using mouse and keyboard controls, but tried my 360 pad and found it much smoother. It's all the UI but still. I like the feedback from the controller too.

The game was made for controllers that's why. Mouse and keyboard support is a complete mess without tweaks.

Your colors are too bold and over saturated.

As I said, real world colours are quiet saturated. I people are used to bland looking games where colour in the scene is washed out or blends with everything else.

Come on, how many times are you going to edit that post with a different pic.

You went from this, to the pic in your current post. Probably because you noticed it looked like crap.

Now you have trees that are brown/black where you can't even see any details on them. Come on, step outside and look around a bit... You will see that shadows aren't really that dark, and you can see detail in trees.

Here are a few pics of landscapes i've taken on my explorations...

Notice how you can still see the bark texture on the tree close up...

Some more non black trees.

Anyways, If you were going to color correct it, you would have ended up with this.

EDIT: If you like green grass more...
