I ve played 75 hours with the controller. I still dislike the UI.

The UI is especially terrible when you have tons of things in one chest.

They made it impossible to run the game without Steam. They also made it so you can't use the LAA mod anymore. Looks like I'm going to have to resort to using pirate hacks to play the game again.

Just one more reason to hate Steam.

Fuwaaaaa. I needed LAA to keep mine from crashing constantly. Maybe they fixed the crashing too. Dunno, I'll have to try it later.

Some people say the patch still works. I'm guessing what happened is that the update is encrypted, and you have to start the game to decrypt, then exit, then reapply the patch. But that's based on a single comment on Skyrim Nexus while I'm taking a break at work, so don't take it as gospel.

I'll give it a try tonight to see for sure. Bethseda would have to be stupid to lock exe mods, since that's what the script extenders use, too.

They didn't change anything, except put a wrapper around the TESV.exe to make it pull up the launcher and run Steam when you launch it. If you try to use LAA again it won't load the game.

It's stupid things like this that make people pirate games. Here I am a legit customer and I'm going to have to go find a hacked exe off of some torrent site to get my game running right again. And most likely every patch after this one will have to be cracked before I can use it as well.

Here is the original file for those of you who want to keep using the LAA flag:

I imagine if I block Steam through Windows firewall and log in through offline mode, I'll be ok until (hopefully) Bethesda/Steam get their collective heads out of their butts?

Pete Hines confirmed on twitter that whatever this patch is is NOT the official patch that is coming next week.

I got no idea what this mess is. I haven't been home to play yet but should I set it to offline mode before running the exe? Any way to prevent it from updating?

My save file is corrupt now too! .... I can load my game and im in a dungeon but as soon as i go to a door to leave the dudgeon and enter Skyrim i get a instant CTD every time!

Ive tried a total new install of Skyrim.

Made sure the "sound fix" is set.

Made sure i have the latest version of direct x.

This is because of this so called "update".

Still waiting for them to fix this game before I drop my hard earned cash on it. I'm eager to find out if the next patch fixes that god awful menu system.

Bleh, can't even play the game for more that 10 minutes now without getting a CTD.
