Just a warning: If you are currently offline and can still play skyrim, make a backup copy of the skyrim install directory. I have Skyrim set to "not update" but I decided I wanted to go online for SOME OTHER GAME! I double checked Skyrim is set to "not update" and it was correct. So in theory as long as I don't run Skyrim it should still be the non patched version when I go offline to play. Well that's not how it worked out. Steam didn't update the files yes that is true, but it did DELETE the files that it is going to patch with out permission while in online mode. So when I went offline to play the non patched version, Skyrim's launcher loops when I press play. Each time asking for "admin permissions" every time and just relaunching the launcher. To fix it I had to restore the tesv.exe and Skyrim - Interface.bsa files from my backup copy to be able to play the game again. Steam is just a buggy mess when it comes to the disabling the auto patching.

The 1.2 patch hit me in the afternoon yesterday. I'm pretty ticked off about it. The complete loss of resistances is killing me. If I go somewhere with a high level mage it only takes a couple of fireball hits to do me in now.
I'm really shocked after 24 hours Bethesda couldn't do something to fix this, and really shocked Bethesda could unload a patch like this without noticing they totally broke resistances in the game. I'd try deleting and re-downloading Skyrim, but unless Steam has removed the patch a new download will just come with the new patch. |

no you just have to deal with it and keep older files on hand to work around the problems.
This works for a lot of guys to get around the 4 gig thing http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1013

modding community is working on it. The problem is that it's flash based.

I wish they would put more resources into fixing the bugs as they made a boat load off initial sales, so they've got the cash to pay people to do so I would imagine. That being said I still think the game is absolutely incredible. I've been playing computer/video games since I was five (28 now) and this is by far the best experience in a game I have ever had. My love for the game over shadows the small bugs and issues that crop up randomly - kind of like the mole on Cyndy Crawford's face. I know it should bother me but the rest of the package is so overwhelmingly awesome that I don't care
