I do not yet own the game. However, I'm following this thread very closely at it appears that at the root of it this is a really poorly done console port. Tons of problems left and right for a PC game. All of that said, where other games would have been flamed alive for such sins against our beloved platform it seems ya'll can't get enough of this game.

Just a observation I've found funny. Despite all of it's flaws, ya'll seem to love the game enough to look beyond it. Is it because they released the SDK for modders to have at early enough? Just curious why this game escapes the flames of PC Gamer fury why others are scorched alive for lesser offenses.

but the mod community has stepped it up where the developer has fallen, so it maybe a console port, but it is still open, and allowing the community to come up with some really awesome mods. the ui / inventory mod is fantastic, i am using skyrim hd mod, which kicks ass, combine with the new plugin to fix the fps...it looks even more fantastic!.

compare that to other console ports...where not even the mod community can do anything about it.

the fov on cod mw3 can be fixed but you risk a vac ban.

killed a dragon solo last night for the first time. had to pause and use lots of healing magic to outlast it. once it was dead, i walked down to the arctic coastline and was promptly mauled to death by one of those snow-cats.

The game doesn't run badly at all and looks great. It doesn't feel like a port, graphics wise. The only thing that does make it feel like a port is the tedious UI regarding spells/inventory management. The map and journal are fine, though.

You will need this for a start. Download the .91 version and it automatically sets the game to your desktop res.

Both Slawter and I run this for the menu fix and widescreen settings. It works a treat.

So you must run Hayden's before you start Skyrim and leave running every time you run the game?

Surround support is really bad in Skyrim but the community fixed it. It's worth the few additional clicks
