I’m running Gentoo Linux 1.4 with a vanilla 2.4.21 kernel. My video card is a Gainward GeForce4 Ti 4200 with 8X AGP (it was all they had!). /proc/driver/nvidia is not available, much less /proc/driver/nvidia/cards/0. My processor is a 1.8GHz Pentium 4, and my motherboard is unknown. My XFree86 version is 4.3.0 and my NVIDIA driver version is 4496. Attached are the log and configuration files (in that order).

The nv driver works, but nvidia does not. Also, I switched to 2.4.20-gaming-r5, enabled MTRR, tried Gentoo's nvidia-kernel package, and I am now able to view /proc/driver/nvidia.
