Default Pentium4 Hyperthreading

Ok, so forthcoming P4's will activate Hyperthreading.

i'm under the impression that one would not need a new mobo for the new P4's to have this ability. is this right or wrong?

intel is doing a rev on their own 850emv to an 850emvr to accomodate for the 3.06ghz chip, if that tells you anything. it tells me that if intel feels the need to rev their own board, chances are good that the 3.06ghz may not work in all 850e boards as they are.

this is a power issue though.

in terms of hyperthreading, all that should be required is a bios update.
