Default RedHat/JAMD Dist not installing 4496

The installer will not launch.

How do I install?

How do I change my screen resolutions?

Thanks

RTFM! j/k ;-)

sh NVIDIAwhateverthenameofthedriveris...

Change resolution is ctrl+alt+numeric plus or minus....

Before you ask the question i will tell you that you need to have the source files for the kernel you use installed on your system...

Default I don't understand.

Please forgive me. . .

I don't know what you mean by "source files" for the kernel.

Please advise.

Thanks,

Well, not source files FOR the kernel, but the actual kernel source files...

Sorry for the confusion that might have caused...

Which distro are you using? Basically, you need to download the kernel source for your distro...

Default Distro

I'm using the latest version of JAMD. It was recommended to me for use with Maya. I just downloaded and installed it this morning.

Sorry, i am tired... and when i get tired i get stupid... and when i get stupid i ask stupid questions that were already dealt with in the subject line...

What you need to do is to download the kernel source from the same place you downloaded your distro, install it, after that, it might install, i say might because many people are having problems with it...

But install the kernel source, run the sh NVIDIAwhatever and then it should install, you need to be root to do this, and you need to do it from stage 3, text mode, you must exit X completely...

Default thanks - but now I have a new problem

Uh. . .

My computer is now booting into the command line. It asks me for a login and password, which it rejects a whole bunch of times, then I get dumped into command line hell.

Is there a way for me to boot up the GUI?

It also keeps telling me that "INIT: Id "x" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes"

Am I being punished or something?
