http://videocardz.com/nvidia/geforce-700 this was the funniest leak yet, check at GK100 - 580gtx replacement and GK104 specifications ![]() ![]() Then this http://en.expreview.com/2011/12/21/n...ted/19764.html and now this (bratwurst in the background lol xD) ![]() I hope im wrong about that driver level part, though. Rollo nvidia representative here is a really good advice, tell Nvidia that they shouldn't be so cheap when designing this "cheaper" GK104 version, dont push everything on driver (Fermi G104/114 version was bad enough ), im sure your lovely customers will pay 10-20$ more in favor to have less software driver trouble, I know I would.. hehe that's why I went with this 570gtx in the first place![]()

NP, I think you, K007, iSpy, and Roadhog should buy as many 7970s as you can afford, and as soon as you can. Everyone else, trust me and wait. ![]()

why? I will skip all these 28nm newborns and wait for a 28nm refresh aka nv800 and amd8000 series. I have enough power in this OC'ed 570gtx until then lol its basically a OC'ed 580gtx ~860-875mhz..

I'm not sure what I will do this time around
I'm selling my 6970s now so I can get the most out of them. I might take a look at a couple of 7950s as a replacement...pretty much knowing they will clock good.If the GK-104 comes on the 31st, that will be an option too. I would really like to go NV this time around, but I just cant wait until March/April http://vr-zone.com/articles/nvidia-k...nly/14538.html Hell...I'd even consider a 7990 if its decent ![]()

Looks like Kepler is going to compete with the 7950 for sure.

2560 x 1600 x4 AA -- 8800 Ultra vs 280 GTX 50 percent. http://www.computerbase.de/artikel/g...ting_qualitaet 2560 x 1600 x4 AA --- 285 GTX vs GTX 480 67 percent. http://www.computerbase.de/artikel/g...ting_qualitaet 2560 x 1600 x4 AA ---- HD 6970 vs HD 7970 42 percent http://www.computerbase.de/artikel/g...stung_mit_aaaf Considering the move to 28 nm from 40 nm is substantial and significant the performance isn't for the HD 7970 but the performance is still welcomed and respectable. However, since the die is actually smaller, this may be the first time in GPU history that the MSRP percentage increase was actually higher than the performance increase. Execution has its rewards and AMD may be much more of a predator and aggressor this time and simply may take advantage by charging premiums based on the todays pricing of the GTX 580 -- an older -- year old -- 40nm, heavily premium priced sku. The GTX 580 is now the objective barometer of pricing when it was insane to buy one from the value minded, more logical choice that was the HD 6950 and 6970 for some. It seems not only did AMD do a 180 but many of their fans as well. |
