Hard lockup with xawtv@overlay mode
Hi
I'm having system lockup after few minutes using xawtv in overlay mode and doing some bacground I/O like md5sum /home/user/*. I have pinnacle pctv rave tuner, geforce 2mx and msi-kt266pro2 mb with 768M ram. It works ok in grabdisplay mode (although jerky and cpu intensive). So far I have no idea if this is kernel, nvidia driver or hardware problem. I'm interested if anybody with nvidia card and bttv compatible tuner has similar problems? regards |

yes,
putting Load 'v4l' into XF86Config solved the hangup problem for me... only problem: xawtc sucks with v4l loaded, the solution: xawdecode, it even reads xawtvrc... |

I've done that before with no luck. My friend with same geforce card tried overlay mode and he has no problems, so I suspect my msi-kt266pro2 mb or via vt8233 chipset is the cause.
