Hello everyone,
a few weeks ago I replaced my NVS 285 with a NVS 290. Unfortunately, with this change I can't use the overlay with xawtv (xawt -xvport). Do you know any other player that can help me? My problem is to use the GPU to handle the VGA video stream (on /dev/videoX) to avoid the use of the CPU. The overlay guaranteed me that. If the overlay is no longer managed by this video card, there is some other way to solve my problem? Thanks. |

This is now exposed through VDPAU, the Video Decode and Presentation API for Unix. Recent versions of mplayer have support for it, can you use that to playback your V4L device node?
