Does anyone know how to do this, or a 3rd part app that does. It has to be the most annoying thing about windows explorer in 7.
This is what I am talking about, most of the time the default layout has so much dead space especially on a widescreen monitor, yet the file names if they are long get cut off. ![]() ![]() |

First, get your settings the way you want them. Then hit Alt+F and going to Tools -> Folder Options. Then click the View tab and hit the Apply to Folders button. See if that does it.

I tried that Vin, it was the only thing I found when searching for this. Can't believe MS hasn't patched this, or someone hasn't bad a 3rd party app.
