Considering this should be more of a mainstream part, I highly doubt it. GK100 with 1024 cores, that rumors are suggesting, might be a different case

Rumors to distract from 7000 series launch in 2 weeks....that's all.
I hope nV get's their new cards out pronto so that the prices can back off on the 7970's a bit.
