Guys im possibly gonna do a little upgrade to a Corsair 120GB Force 3 SSD CSSD-F120GB3-BK Sometime this week just for windows and apps.
Before i do i would like alittle input please. Are the above drives any good? Or are there any other drives of a similar price(£120)that you would recommend instead? ![]() EDIT: Sorry just noticed i posted this in the wrong section. ![]()

For the price I payed for it I have no complaints (It was on special offer @ eBuyer cant remember how much), The firmware is fixed now, before it kept disappearing randomly, So unless it comes with the most recent you need to update asap.

Guys i just thought, That SSD says its SATA III yet my board is only SATA II. Would this SSD still run at the stated speeds of:- Read Performance 550 MB/s & Write Performance: 510 MB/s?

Yeah googled it, I was a little gutted after finding this out. I thought whats the point in spending money on a SATA III drive and have it go to waist when i can get a cheaper SATA II and get the best out of it. Then i found out you can actually get a controller card. StarTech.com 2 Port SATA 6 Gbps PCI Express SATA Controller Card. That sould to the trick right? I should get full speeds of: Read Performance 550 MB/s & Write Performance: 510 MB/s if i was too use one of the above controller cards with the SATA III SSD?

to quote user review
"The card won't do 6Gbps, it'll do 5Gbps. This is noted in the option ROM for the card whcih you can access by pressing ctrl+M during post. * The rated speed is for the controller, not for each port. i.e. with 2 drives your max throughput would be 5Gbps, not 10Gbps. * I found optimum read and write performance using 2 of these cards with 4 SSD. I created 1 raid0 device per card then software raid 0 across the top in Linux. This gave me 760MB/s read and about 550MB/s write."
