Default nvidia-xconfig help

how do i tell nvidia-xconfig that my monitor needs to be run in 1280x1024@60 hz while in run level 3 (init 3)


otherwise i just get pci resolution out of range error when i go into init 5

The easiest is to use the "nvidia-settings" tool to get the resolution and config you want, and have it write the file out, and put it in place of what you have now . . . Much harder to fatfinger anything that way . . .
