I am playing it too. It does seem repetitive, a bit like the "groundhog day" film with Bill Murray, where he lived the same day over and over but knowing what would happen beforehand. . It seems much easier than the original, either that or I accidentally figured out that you have to drain the darkness of the taken BEFORE shooting them

Playing american nightmare, seems good so far. Mr Scratch seems like a fun baddie and the nailgun is hot.

Finished American Nightmare a few days ago. Too small for my taste, but then again, the price wasn't that expensive either (10,5Euro for pre-purchase and for ownership of original Alan Wake). I enjoyed the first one better, although as I said above, maybe it has to do with the fact that it seemed a bit too easy, except maybe from the last fight. Enjoyed the narration of the game and the voice, at first I thought it was Michael Douglas speaking, it turned out it was some guy named Lloyd Floyd, also heard in GTA San Andreas as DJ Hans Oberlander.

Finished it a few days ago. Did have more fun than I thought I would visiting the same places over and over. Was pretty easy compared to the first. No trying to conserve ammo this time. Also felt the Uzi was a little overpowered. I pretty much used it and not much else.

SPOILER: Massively disappointed that Alan did not get down to business with neither of the chicks - scientist or girl in drivein - after so many visits, especially the latter since she was literally begging for it

I know right. The scientist was especially hot in her little black dress.

I have been playing this game off and on over the past week or so, I have to say the story, environment, graphics are awesome! But the actual gameplay is really boring and repetitive to me and I am at a point where I might not even finish it.

it has better lightning effects for sure but texture wise they are very similar.

American Nightmare was pretty decent, even if it was kinda like groundhog day. At least they didn't make you repeat too much and changed the dialogue accordingly. New baddies are pretty good, like the fast guys that turn into birds and the others that split into 8. Didn't like the spiders, they were dumb. Nailgun is nice, crossbow pretty hot. Combat is a bit better but not vastly changed. Tells a little bit more about the story post Alan Wake. Worth it if you liked the original though and fairly priced.

I've yet to buy or play this. Maybe I'll pick it up during the next sale. Really liking the user feed back I'm reading, I think it'll be very fun.
