I'd post a link to Creative's Win7 beta drivers that worked perfectly on my X-fi, but since you ignored my tip about the keyboard you can find em yourself.

What you posted was different from what jcrox did. You said use another USB port, jcrox said use a USB/PS2 adapter.

That said, some USB ports not being recognized during boot is a fairly common problem. I was only curious if he even tried it.

Reading comprehension fail...
Those high definition audio devices are the sound devices included in your graphic card.
All recent graphic cards with HDMI have sound devices to be able to output your normal sound (not just pass through from DVD/bluray) through your HDMI without requiring a cable from your sound card. The drivers should be included in the graphic drivers automatically (they are for NV, haven't used an ATI since my 4850).

Are you sure your x-fi has not been recognized automatically?

My X-fi Xtremegamer wasn't, on 7 Ultimate. The only drivers that would work were the Win7 betas on Creative's site, which I believe are also the same required for his Fatal1ty.

Yes, see if you can change your default playback device in Control Panel -> Sound bob.

Also, make sure you install the drivers in Cylphid's post right above.

Thanks. I think I am going to have to try something like that. Any idea where I can find a non-self extracting soundblaster driver? and also the problem is when i put the sound card in, windows automatically installs the "driver" for it. Bad situation

I believe that's the one, but there's also the 18_15 (no 'A') listed under SB046A. I don't have mine any more...but I'm pretty certain you listed the correct beta.

FYI some of these releases were not on the site when I had mine. A new release may also work well for you.

Yes, you should have the creative device listed after installing the drivers, as well as the usual manufacturer control panel and whatever other assorted software they cram in there.

Mine worked fine though. Solid audio experience.

EDIT: If that Realtek is the onboard sound you should disable it as well.

I tried disabling it as well, and through the bios. same deal, except the onboard sound didnt come up. I thought maybe having it on would somehow help since it was enabled in vista when i first got the sound card and it was recognized. wish the beta driver would load faster than 11.5kb/sec
