Hmm...I've had no problems with it in either 2.4.18 or 2.4.19. I use 2.4.19 because the performance is better than 2.4.18 on my HPT370 controller where all my HDDs live.

The exact same thing you did with the 2960's.

Default Whoa my first official thread

That's what I get for having no life, besides checking for new Nvidia drivers every 15 minutes!

Default OT:OpenGL games though?

Sorry a bit offtopic but, I've just gotten my GF4 4200 and have it working under W2K and RH7.3 flawlessly (with help from this site, thanks) but now I'm looking for some games that demand OGL functionality, it seems I can't even find one to buy for Linux, any help? I'm a fan of first person shooters and RPGs. Thanks!

Default OpenGL games for linux? Easy

Native:
GLQuake
Quake II
Quake III
Unreal Tournament
Tribes 2
Return to Castle Wolfenstein

Wine/Winex:
Halflife and all it's mods
Jedi Knight Outcast
Whatever else you can get running

And that's just off the top of my head.

I play Quake II and III natively, and Team Fortress Classic in winex via CVS.

All use OpenGL.

Default die after 7 to 9 minutes bug still there

Xfree86-4.2.0, debian sarge, kernel 2.4.20-pre5-ac1, nv-drivers 2960 or 3123:

switch pc on, startx -> Xserver crashes after 7 to 9 minutes.
press RESET button, startx -> X runs for hours.

What does the nvidia drivers or the linux kernel after 7 minutes after power on?

Default Rh beta null OK

I have compiled my own kernel, and installed 3123 drivers.

No differences with old versions

Anyone using a Geforce4 MX under RedHat and Ximian Gnome? I just need to know if there is good 2D support in the Geforce4. To date I have been disappointed at the sluggish response of X especially when trying to develop my Java applications. Right now I am using a Radeon 32DDR but am thinking about getting another Geforce. I'm not looking for doing any 3D stuff. I'm hoping that I can get the quickness as under WindowsXP (with just a little more stability). Also, would you all recommend to use a commercial version of X? Thanks in advance!

Keith
