Default black is not black on 1920 x 1200 D800

Hi,

This is probably a stupid newbie question/problem. I just got a Dell Latitude D800
and have downloaded the 1.0-6629 nvidia driver. I'm running my display at
1920 x 1200, and black is not black. From far away (20"), it appears black, but
the closer I get, the more noticeable it is that each letter is colored slightly differently -
dark greens and reds. The sharpness of the picture is great, but the color is weird.

I'm attaching my XF86Config and XFree log files. I don't know if it matters.

Thanks a lot,
Margaret

I'm not sure what you mean by black is not black, but if you mean black text has color artifacts, then take a look at my solution in this thread:

If you are using gnome you can also try with different settings in the font-config. There should be a similar config tool for KDE.
