I do, and it would. There was a source mod in the works for it, but development ceased a while ago. Would have been sweet.

It's the massive wait times. It's just not possible to maintain a high level of excitement for years on end. I have the same problem with pretty much all media - it's why I don't like highly serialized tv shows (you only have to wait a week, but you have to do it over and over) or reading in-progress book series. I freaking love The Dresden Files, but I'm losing interest since I caught up on the series and have had to wait a year+ in between books.

I don't know, I think diablo III did a pretty damn good job but also they were silent about it all for huge chunks of time.
