Post BUG: 290.x and 295.x regression - black menus, black & transparent windows

With 290.x and 295.x drivers, after relogon (!), I get black menus in KDM and black & transparent windows in KDE4 and Gnome.

In 285.x and earlier series it was OK.

Steps to reproduce:
1) start KDM
2) login
3) logout
4) KDM menus are broken with black areas at the bottom (see image [1])
5) login again
6) windows/menus are broken: some are transparent, some are black (see image [2])

Logout. Restart X server from the KDM menu - after restart KDM menus work fine again. Login - windows/menus work too... All until next logout...

Debian GNU/Linux 7.0 Wheezy (testing) 32-bit
X.org 1.11.2
KDE tested: 4.6.4, 4.7.2, 4.7.4

This problem still exists for me with 295.20 (i386):

Still the same problem here too. Any news? 295.20 is not helping....

I made exactly the same observation in a dual seat configuration with KDE4 on the second seat only. With 285.x everything was OK, with 290.x and 295.x the bug was observed.
Very annoying, leaves the whole configuration unusable. Restarting X helps, until the next logout.
Already sent an nvidia-bug-report.log.gz to linux-bugs@nvidia.com, but they answered, that they do not support dual seat configurations.

SLES11SP1 / Two Quadro FX3800 graphics cards.

As a workaround that was published in several threads, e.g.
http://ubuntuforums.org/archive/inde...t-1665405.html
one can terminate the X-Server automatically with every logout, so it has to restart with the login. Uncomment the line

TerminateServer=true

in the kdmrc (with kde4 and SuSE located in /usr/share/kde4/config/kdm). Do this if necessary for multi-seat configurations with every [X-:?-Core] section in kdmrc.

This solved the problem for me for the time being.

This sounds like same or similar problem to mine, except I use xdm and openbox on debian sid. I'm searching through the xdm config files and man pages to figure out how to effect the described work-around but for xdm instead of kdm.

OK, looks like I was right about similarity. Found solution in debian bug report for nvidia driver.
Adding this line to my /etc/X11/xdm/xdm-config works around the problem for now:

Code:
DisplayManager*terminateServer: true
Thanks to all who have input in this thread.
