I know overclocking is luck of the draw and I can't wait to see how they do in that regard anyway.

It looks ok, but its not worth 500$+, 7970 ain't either. Both feel like cheap ripoffs to me..

Nvidia needs to set a price 350-380$ and its a win win, AMD is forced to lower prices and us customers will really appreciate it.. I bet NV will too since they will sell like hot cakes..

lol now i kinda feel sorry for my 570 and want something stronger xD, but not for 500$ that's for sure. If it were 2x 570perf then yeah, but not for ~ 40-50% boost. A OC to 900mhz lowers that gap to 20-30%

And what happened to that huge 4+tflops pref.?
It looks disappointing in direct compute/openCL, dunno how it will run U4E dx11 efficiently. Ok at TXAA (2xaa pref. hit) it could, but i bet AMD 7970 will do a better job

About OC, its already hitting 83C at stock freq., i doubt if there is much room left unless you put it under water.

They can't, for the same reason AMD can't, availability. They will sell like hot cakes anyway and for a much better price for them.

It's limited, like Fermi cards were for the most part. Quadro/Tesla cards are "unlocked".

Wins by a narrow margin and is reviewed by Tom's. Does anyone still consider them reputable?

I was really hoping for a 25% lead from the 680....that way 670 and 7970 prices would be affordable.

Toms hardware is hardly a reputable source... You can't possible take their reviews serious.

lol what is this, court hearing?

I doubt they will sell so good at that price.. And besides both 7970 and "680"GTX AREN'T worth 500$ compared to last gen..

That's not what i heard about tflops. 4tflops cant be limited like that.. Otherwise AMD would be even more limited with 3.8tfllops @7970. Unless that by nv is much much lower and that 4tflop leak was another poor marketing gimmick..

You can forget +300mhz on air, ok on water maybe but not on air if its already hitting 83C by default..

Already cross referenced the 7970 vs 580 numbers and they're BS....so I put no faith in the 680 numbers either.

Like here:

vs

As you can see, real numbers show the 680 beating the 7970 by 1.4fps

And

vs

More proof that toms is bs... 590, 6990, and 580 all stay about the same, while the 7970 and 7950 just happen to lose almost 10fps? lol

There is definitely something wrong with those bench marks.
