Default video shifted right on main screen

On a Toshiba 1955-s805 Laptop the video is shifted to the right when running the nv driver. I have tested this with and without the modeline being commented in. With and without the 2nd screen attached. I've attached my XF86Config file. Any ideas or help much appreciated.

Hi,

From the header of your Config file, I see that you are using SuSE.
In the new versions of SaX there is the option to move and resize your screen with some mouseclicks.

Just exit all XServers and type as root: sax2

I hope that this will work.
If you don't have SuSE or an older SaX there is the program called xvidtune which looks a bit old-fashioned but works well.
You can start this program e.g. from a console window when you are working in X.
The problem about this program is that it (I think so) doesn't save the values. You have to edit the XF86config file by hand.

Hope that helps and sorry for my miserable English

Sax and XVidtune don't move the screen any. I am loathe to run Sax because I am running two monitors and it was pretty tricky to get dual monitor support to work with the nvidia driver. Any idea which parameters get changed in the XF86Config file, so that maybe I could just tweak them by hand?

Thanks,

-Gil

Maybe you could make a backup of your XF86Config and config your screens separately with xvidtune.

I guess these lines are the key.
You can uncomment one of these and enter the values xvidtune shows up. AFAIK

Sorry for so less information, but at the time i haven't got so much time. Try a search-engine and enter xvidtune modlines
