CentOS 6.2 (X.Org X Server 1.10.4), latest patches as of 2/16/2012
Lenovo w520 (BIOS setup for NVIDIA Q1000) nouveau module is blacklisted in grub.conf and modprobe.conf.d Driver x86_64 295.20 I have it configured and running in TwinView, with an external 1920x monitor and the internal/laptop 1920x display. Two scenarios: 1. Plug laptop into dock, boot. Mouse, pointer and trackpad work just fine. 2. Boot laptop not in dock. Any mouse (usb, keyboard pointer or touchpad) no longer work on the X-axis. The mouse only goes up and down, not horizontally. If I revert to the nouveau driver, it works fine undocked and not. I can only surmise the problem is created by the nvidia driver. Other problems, just for context: 1. TwinView does not support screen switching (undocking). This is a "documented feature." In trying to get it to work, I did add options nvidia NVreg_Mobile=5" to modprobe.d, but it is my understanding that this only works when TwinView is NOT in use (i.e. Xinerama). 2. Without TwinView, with Xinerama GNOME does not work--RANDR extensions are not available and the display manager doesn't run. Totally non-functional. Any help would be greatly appreciated. At this point in time, I have reverted to the basic nouveau driver. I'll attach the log data as requested. |
