Which Kepler Product Will Replace The 570?

I'm ready to upgrade and I'm waiting on Kepler (and possibly Ivy Bridge). I'm looking for a replacement for the 570. Would the 670 be the replacement, because if you look at the rumored leaked info about Kepler, it would suggest that the 670 will cost $500! http://www.cpu-world.com/news_2012/2...d_Pricing.html

I usually buy the 2nd to the fastest (single GPU) card to say some money, but if this is true it looks like I'll have to buy a 660 and lose some of the higher end stuff that I'm used to getting when upgrading.

Cant really give any advice based on rumors or speculation bro and no confirmed specs or pricing...

From the looks of the second chart:

Equal Speed-wise would be the GTX650TI
Equal Price-wise would be the GTX660TI ($400.00 launch price?)

But yeah, if you're looking for the "second fastest card"... you are looking @ $499 for a GTX670

Thanks, that does help a bit. I've seen this chart somewhere else too. IF this were true, that would mean that they've raised their price on their #2 card. If I were to pay the same amount I usually do, it would mean this time I would be getting the #3 card and that doesn't set too well with me. Looks like I'll be paying an extra $150 for #2.....sigh.

See, I only do a full upgrade every 4 or 5 years and then every other year, I'll upgrade just the video card.

So what I'm basically wanting is the replacement for the current GeForce GTX 570. If I am to understand this, the 670 will be the replacement. I'll be paying $150 more than I usually do for #2 card (single GPU).

The thing is, is it looks like the 660 and the 660Ti seems to be equivalent to the 580.....the 660Ti has a 384 bit memory interface just like the 580 does.

Right now I'm running a GTX 465. IF I have to end up getting a GeForce GTX 660Ti, shouldn't that be able to run all the latest games at their highest settings. Currently I'm looking at Battlefield 3 and The Old Republic. I know, you're probably saying TOR runs the Unreal 3 engine, but because it's an MMO, it runs just a little rough on my 465. I have to lower shadow quality and tree quality.

I'm hoping to be able to play all games at their highest (or nearly the highest) setting for 2 years. I'll be upgrading my video card in 2 years and then the fourth year I'll be upgrading everything, which would be CPU, Mobo, Vid Card and RAM. I'm upgrading my PSU this time, but I don't upgrade that every time.

Yes, I agree it´s still too early to see what final prices will be for the 670. I find 499 US too expensive comparing with the old generation 500 series but who knows...

Anyway, it´s always better to wait up to a month ( or more

) to watch those prices come down so I guess your best ( and mine too

) option is to wait a bit after launch to see which brand will have the best price for the 3D card you want to buy.

We know that probably nVidia´s 680 will be faster than the 7970 but hopefully it won´t be as expensive as its %%% in perfomance! Those prices are higher than last generation GTX500´s but then again, launch prices were quite a few times too high to early buyers so the best way to get your 670 is to wait until prices fall down and they will thanks to competition. Only God knows when they will come down after launch to a decent price.

From the latest info, the GK104 based card should end up costing $399.

Rumors are just that. And most of those conflict with each other.
Recent rumors were placing GK104 up to the GTX670 in name (so *VERY* different from Tom's chart).

What seems to be consistent is that GK104 should be very soon (early march) while GK110 should be a while (end of 2nd quarter).

I guess we'll have to wait and see.

@Zero: when do you want to buy and what is your budget? If you can wait a few weeks, GK104 is coming soon and the older cards (GTX5XX) and the competition (AMD) should lower their price as an answer.
