Well I was out at micro enter today and they had the iPad 2 for $359 which was just too good of a deal to pass up. I'm going to give it a test drive and if I think the screen on the new one is worth another $150 I'll trade this in.

Anandtech benchmarked the iPad2. It's not 2x as fast but it stomps the Tegra3.

My iPad would be in Zurich by now but I guess TNT ****ed it up AGAIN for real. I probably have to wait until Monday. AFAIK, quite a few stores still have iPads on stock. I guess they received a lot more than I expected. So I could go out and get one...

As of now, the only advantage of the pre-order was to get it customized with an engraving. Other than that, it was more of a hassle. Thanks TNT, the worst express service.

More or less I wanted to see if the device was something I'd fall in love with before I spent 8 hours in a line. I did fall in love with it so I took the 2 back to micro center and just waltzed into Target and got incredibly lucky.

Yeah, TNT here got slammed. They were getting in temp guys and sending office staff out here and delivering over the weekend. I heard from one guy, he has 6000 iPads to deliver Fri-Mon.

Their tracker broke with ours. Looked like it never left Sydney, but it arrived Friday morning. Great device. Glad I choose it over replacing my current laptop.

I have to say that this device is just amazing. Buying an android tablet that is anywhere near it in price would be foolish. The only thing that may compete with it is a windows tablet, but i worry that the arm version of windows 8 will be pretty lackluster at first.
