The evga I seen in my price range is a P67 and I wanted a Z68 so I could upgrade to a ivory bridge witout haveing to buy a new motherboard.I think there are a lot of motherboard brands that have good boards is just some of them need a bios update and others just have bad quaility control.I want a motherboard that has great teck support and if you do need to RMA one ,they do it quick and not take months like some brands do.

ASRock is getting great reviews and the X79 Extreme4 just looks like it is build solid ,but Asus,Gigabyte make some good boards too,it just seems like ever ASRock is getting good reviews ,they don't give you alot of extras but the motherboard is build solid.Since my cousin helped me out so I just went ahead and got a i7-3820,overclocks good even if it is partcial locked it goes to 43x ,the BCLK will do 154.You can get some cazy overclocks if you get a good chip.It has 10mb of cache which don't seem to do much ,maybe in some programs it would help out.But if you are buying it just to game and nothing else then the i5-2500K would be plenty.I like haveing the 8 threads ,maybe some day they will come in handy,I am sure some programs haveing 8 threads helps out.But all the sandys are good chips.I was going to wait for the ivory bridge, but I was ready for a new toy, since it has been over three years.Plus it just look like a minor upgrade.

It's what I'm using and it never skips a beat. I run my 2600k at 5Ghz 24/7. Great combo the P8Z68- V Pro and 2600k.
