Default VdpDecoderRender long decoding times

I have been investigating stuttering issues users reported for XBMC. I placed a measurement around VdpDecoderRender. Every now and then this shows very long decoding times. It varies from 200ms up to 900ms.
Behavior seems to be different on different systems. On a Zotac ID80 (gt520m) I get this every 10 min. (Ubuntu Oneiric 64 bit). Another system gt220 (ubuntu 10.10 32 bit) is running fine.
I did tests with 1920x1080 content, H.264.

EDIT: tried divers 295.20 and 295.33

When using fluxbox instead of gnome-fallback I don't see this problem.

Edit: Tested without window manager and VdpDecoderRender took 280ms to complete. So it seems not to be related to a window manager.
