Make sure they are the very same version numbers-wise (don't worry about the architecture. Although there are i386, i586, i686 and athlon kernels, the sources are released in the generic i386 version.)

If your kernel is 2.4.20-10, make sure you have the 2.4.20-10 kernel-sources.

The kernel-source doesn't necessarily belongs to the same disk where the rest of the kernels are located. RH 8 has 3 disks. Have you looked in all of them?

If it's an rpm file just install it with (as root):

rpm -ivh kernel-source-version.rpm

Make sure it's the very same version of your running kernel.

Try reinstalling the nvidia drivers. They will do the rest of the work for you.

Apparently, you are using an old driver (41.80). Bear in mind that newer kernels are more compatible with current distros.
Get the latest at www.nvidia.com

¿Y sí revisaste que tu kernel fuera de la misma versión que las fuentes?
