Carmageddon counter hints to a possible new game

Wow. Few days ago we were expressing our desire for a true and proper remake of Carmageddon’s first part and here are some actual news for a new Carmageddon game. Talk about coincidence. Although nothing is certain, there are hints that a new Carmageddon game might be revealed on June 1st.

Don’t believe us? Head over then to Carmageddon’s Official Site ( http://www.carmageddon.com ). As you will see, there is a counter that ends on June 1st. Which basically indicates to a possible new Carmageddon game.

We can only hope that this new Carmageddon game will go back to the franchise’s routes. We don’t want zombies and floaty car physics. Give us a Carmageddon game that is similar to the one we grew up with. With lots of blood, the ability to dismember the pedestrians and proper – and above all fun - car physics.

Hope they don't screw it up. Site must be getting lots of hits cause took me tons of tries to get the page to laod in order to see whats there......

Loved the 1st, game... make it like #1, we don't need to drive indoors and add LAN support... pretty hard to screw it up if you slap nice graphics on it and some new vehicles...

Rumors has it that this is not done by Square Enix (which acquired Eidos, the original publisher of Carmageddon). There was an open source game presented a little while ago that won a cease and desist at the time. Maybe they negotiated the rights?

Both 1 & 2 were a blast I can still remember being able to drive in to a football stadium, run over the players on the field and then right up in to the stands and plow in to the fans.

I also remember the game being banned in several countries because because of the violent content and in other countries they had to make it so instead of running over people you ran over zombies in order to sell the game.

Where did you read this? Press release just says being developed for digital download, meaning most definitely for PC also.
