Default Install error

This logfile is created when i try to run the installer script:
I'm also setting the CC enviroment variable to match the gcc version which was used to compile my kernel

Not sure about the error, but just wanted to check:
You're setting CC to match, but do also actually have that version of gcc installed? You should have the full compiler package installed so it can really use it.

got my 2.4 kernel up and working after posting this message, worked just fine under this kernel .. (which is compiled with the newest gcc version)
